Overhead powerline replacement in Alexandrina Drive Narrung
What we’re doing
We’re making some important changes to the local power network. We’re replacing a section of our 11,000 Volt (11kV) powerline along Alexandrina Drive in Narrung which has been affected by corrosion from salt, and also upgrading three transformers.
The work will span from the intersection of Narrung Road, on the lake side of the road, extending to the other side of 184 Alexandrina Drive, Narrung.
How this affects you
The civil works for this project were completed earlier in the year which included laying foundations for the five new Stobie poles we’re installing.
On Monday 26 May we’ll return to install the new Stobie poles (adjacent existing poles). We will then install the new overhead powerline, and remove the old poles and powerlines. This final stage of the project will be completed by Friday 30 May. Work will be during the day between 8am and 4pm.
To ensure the safety of pedestrians, road users and our crews, traffic management including periodic reduced speed limits and lane closures will be in place along Alexandrina Drive.
Power outages
Power outages have been scheduled on 27 and 29 May. We will notify those affected today via SMS and email if subscribed. We will also send notification cards in the mail, and we will publish the indicative outage map on our website.

Construction impacts
There will be typical construction impacts such as noise, vibration and possibly dust from our trucks and other heavy machinery. Our crews will minimise impacts as much as possible, however we apologise for any inconvenience.
