What we are doing

We are upgrading the local electricity network to support the new residential development at 299 Pirie Street, Adelaide.

The work involves civil excavation to install new conduits and a cable vault under the roadway in Tucker Street (in the section between Hutt Street and Dawkins Place) and the installation of a new transformer and electrical infrastructure at 299 Pirie Street, Adelaide. 
 

How this affects you

Work will continue this week and is expected to be completed by Friday 13 September 2024, weather permitting.

The specific work on Tucker Street is between 30 and 44 Tucker Street and is expected to last approximately two weeks.

Construction activities will take place during daytime hours, between 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Traffic management will be in place around our worksite, with detours in place, where required.

Vehicle access to businesses and residences will be restricted throughout our activities during the above times. Tucker Street will be closed between 30 and 44 Tucker Street to undertake the work safely. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout our activities. 

Residents and businesses directly adjacent our worksite will be contacted in advance to discuss any concerns or access requirements.

Speed and parking restrictions will be in place in the vicinity of the works to ensure safety for community members and our work crews.

Power outages

We don’t expect any power interruptions during these works; however, we encourage anyone with a National Meter Identifier (NMI) on their electricity bill to sign up for outage alerts or call us on 13 12 61 for assistance.

Construction impacts

This week there will be noise, vibration and dust associated with these works from excavation equipment and other heavy machinery and vehicles.

From Monday 2 September noise will be reduced.

Our crews will minimise impacts as much as possible.
