Applications open for our 2027 Cadet Project Officer Program
Applications are now open for our 2027 Cadet Project Officer Program, with multiple positions available for people looking to take the next step towards a career in the energy industry.
The program is open to applicants with a minimum requirement of completing Year 12. Whether you're coming straight from school, have experience in the electrical industry or are looking for a career change, the program provides a pathway to develop your skills and experience.
The three-year program starts in February 2027 and gives cadets the opportunity to develop skills in technical and project management work.
What does a Cadet Project Officer do?
Our Project Officers help deliver new customer connections, asset relocations and extensions to our electricity network.
As part of the program, cadets gain experience in areas such as scoping, design, estimating and project approvals, while working with customers and different teams across the business.
Cadets undertake planned rotations across metropolitan and outer metropolitan depots, as well as our Keswick headquarters, giving them experience across different areas of SA Power Networks.
The program also includes internal training covering Project Officer skills and a range of work and safety-related training.
Where can the program take you?
The program is designed for people who already have electrical trade experience and are interested in moving into technical and project management work.
By the end of the three years, cadets will have built experience across a range of areas and be well placed to pursue roles including Project Officer and Powerline Design positions.
To be eligible, applicants need to hold a Certificate III in Electrotechnology and have at least two years of relevant work experience. Other eligibility requirements also apply.
