Powerline works in Ashford, Kurralta Park and Keswick
18 Thursday September 2026
What we’re doing
We’re continuing powerline works in the areas of Ashford, Kurralta Park and Keswick to support the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project for the Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT).
For more information, please visit the Department of Infrastructure and Transport's website at: River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project - Department for Infrastructure and Transport - South Australia.
How this affects you
We have installed 2 new Stobie poles on South Road, north of the Barwell Avenue and Everard Avenue intersection.
We will be installing new overhead powerlines across South Road, at this location. The work will be completed by our powerline crews overnight between 9pm and 5am on Tuesday 29 September and Thursday 1 October 2026.
For the safety of our crews, road users and members of the public, traffic will be stopped for up to 5 minutes during each powerline installation.
These works have been scheduled overnight to minimise traffic, community, and business impacts. We have consulted with DIT and received permit approval to temporarily stop a portion of South Road while we complete our work.
Traffic management
Traffic management will be in place while our crews and contractors are working with temporary speed limits, and signposted partial road closures, or detours for the safety of workers, road users and pedestrians. If you need assistance, please ask our traffic safety team.
We will work to minimise disruption as much as possible and appreciate the understanding of those affected by this work.
Power outages
We anticipate that there will be two planned outages associated with these works. If you are impacted, you will be notified separately.
Customers subscribed to our free SMS/email notification service will typically receive two weeks’ notice, and we aim to provide even more notice where possible.
For customers not registered for the SMS/email service, we will send notification cards via post, though delivery times may vary.
We encourage anyone not already subscribed to sign up for updates using the National Meter Identifier (NMI) found on your electricity bill. For assistance, call us on 13 12 61 during business hours.
Subscribing is a convenient way to stay informed about planned and unplanned power outages, as well as other service updates.
