Notification of works

Gouger Street, Adelaide CBD (Stage One)

September - October 2025

What we are doing

SA Power Networks is undertaking connection work to reinforce supply for the expansion and development of the surrounding area.

These works are the first of a two-stage program. Stage one is about to begin, and details about stage two will be shared in the coming weeks.

Works for stage one will involve installation of underground conduits on Gouger Street outside the Multiplex construction site (new Adelaide Central Markets building) and the Sir Samuel Way Building (the courthouse). This is to enable connection of future developments in the area and to ensure continued power reliability for residents and businesses.

How this affects you

Civil works to install underground conduits will take place Sunday to Thursday nights, between 7pm and 6am, beginning Sunday 28 September continuing until Friday 31 October 2025, weather permitting.

Traffic management including lane closures will be in place around our worksite with signposted detours in place. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained throughout our activities. If this changes, we will contact those directly adjacent to our site in advance to discuss any concerns or access requirements.

We appreciate locals and visitors observing speed limits, lane restrictions and traffic controller direction when travelling through the area.
