Plan ahead - get connected before the busy end of year rush!

Get in early and help your customers avoid connection delays.
We know the end of the year might still feel a little way off, but it has a habit of creeping up quickly – especially as more customers start looking to have their work completed before the holiday break.
Whether it’s new builds, alterations or upgrades, demand naturally ramps up as we head towards Christmas, and we’re already seeing that seasonal lift begin.
That’s why we’re sharing this friendly reminder to help you plan ahead and avoid any last-minute stress.
Here’s what we’re seeing:
- Connection lead times are already sitting around 10-12 weeks in many areas
- End-of-year slots are starting to fill quickly, especially for more complex work involving multiple crews or road crossings
- Requests submitted after late September may not be scheduled until early 2026, depending on location and job type.
A few tips to help things run smoothly:
- Get in early – lodge your applications well ahead of your preferred connection date
- Make sure your site is ready – things like trenching, meter boxes, and ECoCs being in place help avoid delays
- Keep in touch – use REX to track progress on new connections and alterations, and the Portal for customer enquiries. We're continuing to transition services across, so make sure you're using the right tool for the job.
