Applications now open for our Accelerated Powerline for Electricians Program

We're excited to announce that applications are once again open for our Powerline for Electricians - Accelerated Training Program, following the success of the inaugural intake.
The program has already proven popular among experienced electricians looking to take the next step in their careers. It offers the chance to build on existing electrical skills, work outdoors, and contribute to powering South Australia’s energy future.
About the program
This two-year program combines comprehensive training and on-the-job experience, leading to a Certificate III in ESI – Distribution Overhead. Participants will learn to construct, maintain and operate South Australia’s electricity distribution network, gaining experience across both metropolitan and regional areas.
Training is delivered through SA Power Networks’ internal training centres in Adelaide and Port Augusta, with travel across the state forming part of the learning experience.
By the end of the program, participants will be qualified Distribution Powerline Workers with the practical skills and knowledge to work safely and effectively in one of the most rewarding and essential roles in the energy industry.
Locations and start date
Positions are available for a March 2026 start at the following depots:
- Port Pirie
- Wudinna
- Port Lincoln
- Cleve
