Notification of works

Acacia Drive, Whyalla Stuart

Thursday 6 November 2025

What we’re doing

We are replacing underground low voltage cable along Acacia Drive and part of Eucalypt Street to ensure continued power reliability for customers in the area. We will do the work in daylight hours, mainly between Monday and Friday between 7am and 6pm, with the possibility of some weekend work.

How this affects you

We have appointed Equipped Civil to do the civil work which includes trenching along Acacia Drive and Eucalypt Street during November and December 2025. Our powerline crews will install the cable. Equipped Civil will then reinstate any damaged footpaths or roads to the local council standards. We will keep noise disruption at a minimum before 8am.

The Equipped Civil team will let you know when we need your help by keeping the kerb free of parked vehicles so we can safely access our work area with access for heavy vehicles such as trucks and excavators. This will also help avoid any damage to your car.

Traffic management

Temporary speed limits, lane closures, partial road closures, and possible detours will be in place for safety. We will minimise construction impacts such as noise, vibration, and dust as much as possible.

Power outages

We will notify in advance of any power outages associated with this work, typically two weeks before we do the work. We encourage anyone not already subscribed to sign up for updates using the National Meter Identifier (NMI) found on your electricity bill. Subscribing is a helpful way to receive updates related to planned and unplanned power outages, as well as other disruptions such as night works or noise.
