Notification of works
North Terrace and Port Road, Adelaide CBD
August - September 2025
What we are doing
We are carrying out service provision investigation works for the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital project on North Terrace and Port Road from Monday 25 August to Friday 12 September 2025.
These works will include pot holing and reinstatement, service locating and environmental sampling to help inform our design.
The investigation works will take place on North Terrace, between George Street and West Terrace and on the footpath outside the Karen Rolton Oval on Port Road.
Works will progress from east to west, covering around 50 metres each day. Our scheduled working hours are between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
How this affects you
Bus stop Y1 & Y2 on North Terrace (south side) will be relocated slightly while we are working at this location on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 September between 8am and 4pm. Our workers will be able to direct you to the location of the bus stop during this time.
To ensure the safety of our workers and the community, traffic management measures including intermittent lane closures, speed restrictions and footpath closures will be in place around our specific worksite.
Access to businesses and intersecting side streets will be maintained throughout the works. We will contact those directly adjacent to our work site in advance to discuss any concerns or requirements.
Vehicle and pedestrian access will be maintained to properties as the works progress. We appreciate the courtesy of locals and visitors in observing speed limits, lane restrictions and following traffic controller directions when travelling through the area.
Power outages
Power will not be impacted, however we encourage anyone with a National Meter Identifier (NMI) on their electricity bill to sign up for updates of power outages and future events via our website.
Construction impacts
There will be typical construction noise, vibration and dust associated with these works from excavation equipment and other heavy machinery and vehicles.
Our crews and contractors will minimise impacts as much as possible, however we apologise for any inconvenience.
Thank you
We appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this important work and thank you for respecting the safety of our on-site workers and the traffic safety management team.
