Notification of Works
New 11,000 Volt (11kV) overhead network at Kalperri Road Sandy Creek
What we’re doing
We have been engaged by SA Water to connect electricity to the new Sandy Creek tanks site located on Kalperri Road.
According to our Connection Policy and under the terms of the Australian Energy Regulator’s connection charge guidelines, we are obligated to provide the most cost-efficient method for a new connection. In this case, it means connecting the new supply to an existing connection point on Balmoral Road.
We will install 11 new Stobie poles and a new 11kV high-voltage (HV) overhead powerline along Kalperri Road as part of these works.

How this affects you
Our civil contractor Bardell Excavations commenced civil works on Monday 28 July. These works include installing footings for 10 new Stobie poles along Kalperri Road and one Stobie pole located at the intersection of Balmoral and Kalperri Roads. Bardell will also trench across Balmoral Road and slightly up Kalperri Road to connect the mains power to the new overhead network. We expect civil works to be completed by mid-August.
Our powerline crews will begin their works on Friday 15 August to install the 11 new Stobie poles and new 11kV high-voltage overhead powerlines along Kalperri Road. We expect these works will be completed by mid-September.
The work for both stages will take place Monday to Friday, generally between 8am and 4pm.
There will be periodic traffic safety management along Kalperri Road and at the intersection of Balmoral and Kalperri Roads when our crews or contractors are working. Our team will work closely with those affected to minimise any inconvenience.
Work hours and dates are subject to change due to weather, site conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Power outages
Some customers will experience one power outage during this period; we will notify those affected directly.
We will send SMS/emails to subscribed customers affected by the power outage two weeks in advance, at which time the outage map will also be published on our website. We post cards to non-subscribed customers, however there may be delays with the postal service.
If you do not already receive free notifications about your power, you can sign up for updates via our website, or call us on 13 12 61 for assistance. You need the National Meter Identifier (NMI) from your electricity bill to subscribe.
Construction impacts
There will be typical noise, vibration and dust associated with this work from excavation equipment, and other heavy machinery and vehicles. Our crews and contractors will minimise impacts as much as possible, however we apologise for any inconvenience.
Thank you
We appreciate your patience throughout our work.
