Powerline upgrades in Uleybury

Friday 27 March 2026

What we are doing

We’re replacing around three kilometres of high voltage powerline and related equipment, including 14 Stobie poles, to ensure we can meet increasing local electricity demand.

Our work is along Main North, Dalkeith and Smith Roads. The new poles will be replaced in a similar location to the existing poles.

How this affects you

Our contractor Equipped Civil will install new pole footings between Tuesday 7 April and Thursday 23 April 2026. Our civil work will be completed as day work between 7.30am and 5pm. Please refrain from parking your vehicles on the road during these timeframes as Equipped Civil will require as much space as possible for trucks, vehicles and excavator movements.

Our powerline crews will install the new Stobie poles and replace our overhead powerlines from April to June 2026. We will remove the old poles on completion. Most of our powerline work will be completed as day work Mondays to Fridays between 8am and 4pm, with some weekend and overnight work. All night work will be carried out between 8pm and 5am.

We aim to complete the work before more substantial rains in winter.

Traffic management

Traffic management will be in place while our crews and contractors are working on or near roads. Temporary speed limits, lane closures, partial road closures, and possible detours will be in place for the safety of workers, road users and pedestrians. A traffic controller will be on site to assist residents in and out of their properties throughout the works if impacted. We will minimise disruption as much as possible and appreciate the patience and support of the local community and visitors affected by this work.

Power outages

Some customers may be affected by power outages scheduled between April and June. We will notify customers in advance of any power outages that will affect them, typically with two weeks' notice for customers subscribed to our free SMS/ email notification service.

We will mail cards to customers who are not registered for our digital messaging service; however delivery times by post may vary and will take longer than our digital service. We encourage anyone not already subscribed, to sign up for updates using the National Meter Identifier (NMI) found on your electricity bill. You're welcome to call us on 13 12 61 for help if you need it.

Subscribing is a helpful way to receive updates related to planned and unplanned power outages, as well as other disruptions such as night work or noise.
