Notification of works
Undergrounding powerlines on Adelaide Road, Echunga (stage 2)
Friday 21 November 2025
What we’re doing
SA Power Networks is continuing work to underground powerlines along Adelaide Road, Echunga.
How this affects you
Our contractor Tron Civil Contracting will trench and install pole footings along Adelaide Road for two new Stobie poles on Marianna Street and Battunga Road from January 2026.
We will also trench along Adelaide Road to install new underground cables, and to relocate some consumer services. We expect the majority of work to be completed in February 2026, however some minor civil work will continue in March and April 2026.
Our powerline works will be completed between March and April 2026 between 8am and 3pm, Monday and Friday, with the possibility of some weekend or night works.
Customers currently connected to our overhead powerlines will be connected to our new underground network. We will contact customers directly if we need to change their current overhead connection to the new underground service and make appropriate arrangements for access and timing. There is no charge to customers for this work.
The project will be completed by the end of April when we remove the old overhead equipment.
Traffic management
For the safety of our crews and members of the public, traffic management will be in place along Strathalbyn Road, Adelaide Road, Marianna Street and Battunga Road when our work is in progress. Temporary speed limits, lane closures, partial road closures, and possible detours will be in place for safety.
Power outages
We will notify in advance of any power outages associated with this work, typically two weeks before we do the work. We encourage anyone not already subscribed to sign up for updates using the National Meter Identifier (NMI) found on your electricity bill.
