A year of generosity
In 2024, the Foundation celebrated significant achievements, driven by the passion and dedication of its employees. A key highlight was the remarkable generosity of employees, which enabled the Foundation to donate over $600,000 to various causes throughout the state. This substantial contribution has supported numerous charities and community initiatives, creating a lasting impact on the lives of many South Australians.
Fundraising efforts
The report also emphasises the incredible spirit of giving within the organisation, with employees organising and participating in 47 fundraisers throughout the year – nearly one every week! The Foundation amplified the impact of these efforts by dollar-matching each fundraiser up to $5,000, effectively doubling the funds raised for various causes. These fundraising activities ranged from abseiling and cross-country drives to themed events and personal challenges, demonstrating the creativity and commitment of employees to support their community.
Increased volunteering
Volunteering also saw a significant increase in 2024, with employee participation doubling compared to previous years. Employees dedicated their time to various organisations, including Backpacks 4 SA Kids, Mary Potter Hospice, Foodbank SA, Trees For Life, and the Hutt St Centre, providing support to vulnerable children, patients, individuals experiencing food insecurity or homelessness, and contributing to environmental initiatives.
Community support initiatives
Beyond fundraising and volunteering, the Foundation actively engages in community support initiatives. In 2024, this included donating laptops to vulnerable community members, providing backpacks to displaced children, delivering Christmas toys to disadvantaged families, donating refurbished printers to charities, and contributing food to Foodbank SA.
Foundation mission and vision
The Foundation is guided by a clear mission and vision: to empower employees to create lasting change in the community we work and live in and to foster a culture of engagement, recognition, and community support. Overseen by a group of Trustees from the Executive Leadership Team at SA Power Networks, the Foundation's day-to-day operations are managed by a dedicated Management Committee.
Celebrating employee dedication
The 2024 Annual Impact Report highlights the Foundation's achievements and celebrates the generosity and dedication of SA Power Networks and Enerven employees, whose collective efforts have made a significant difference within our community.
