New Service Provision pilot underway - release coming soon

Customer portal updtae web news hero

We've reached another important milestone in our portal program, with a pilot of the New Service Provision (NSP) service now underway.

A group of 25 electricians are using the portal to submit their NSP requests and provide feedback on the experience. The purpose of this pilot is to test NSP in real conditions, identify what works well and what doesn’t, and refine the service before it’s released more broadly.

During this stage:

  • New connections remain available in REX for everyone as usual.
  • Only the invited pilot group is actively using the portal for NSP and providing structured feedback.
  • Existing portal users may see NSP listed, but it’s not yet open for general use.

NSP is one of the most common connection requests we receive, and the largest external-facing connection service we’ve moved into the portal so far. Once the pilot is complete and feedback has been incorporated, NSP will be rolled out to all users.

To help customers and industry prepare for the transition, we’ve published a new webpage: A better way to manage your connection requests.

This page explains:

  • Which services are already available in the new portal
  • Which services are coming next
  • What you need to do to create an account and get started.

Pending the success of the pilot, NSP will move into a staged release. REX will remain available in the meantime, but will be retired for minor connections once all services are transitioned.

Thanks to everyone participating in the pilot, and to those who continue to provide feedback. Each step brings us closer to a simpler, more connected way of managing service requests.
