A better way to manage your connection requests

SA Power Networks has launched a new portal for minor connections. 

We’re making it easier to submit and manage electrical service requests online – whether you’re an electrician, solar installer, builder, developer, or homeowner.

The new portal is designed to replace older systems like REX and other online forms, offering a simpler, mobile-friendly way to lodge and track your requests in one place. 

What’s changing?

We’re progressively moving all minor connection services into the new portal, including: 

  • Network Access Permits - NOW LIVE
  • Customer Enquiries – NOW LIVE
  • New Service Provision – COMING SOON
  • Low Voltage Line Covers - Future update
  • Retailer Temporary Isolation - Future update
  • Alterations - Future update

As these go live, they’ll only be available via the new portal. Eventually, REX will be retired for minor connections. 

How the portal helps you 

  • For homeowners and residents: Clearer status updates and simpler communication – even if you’ve never dealt with this stuff before. 
  • For electricians and builders: Faster job creation, easier data entry, and real-time updates without needing to chase manually. 
  • For retailers and industry: More visibility, less duplication, and a consistent process that makes it easier to work with us and with your customers. 

What do I need to do? 

Even if you’ve used REX before, you’ll need to create a new account: 

  1. Go to portal.sapowernetworks.com.au 
  2. Click Create a new account 
  3. Set your password and verify your identity 
  4. Set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) 

Already registered? Just log in with your email and MFA code.

  • Permanent Disconnections (Abolishments) 
  • Network Access Permits 
  • Customer Enquiries 

You can lodge, track and manage all of these right now in the new portal.
