Lameroo substation works - 11kV switchyard rebuild and 11kV regulator upgrade

What we are doing
We are upgrading equipment at the Lameroo substation to support growing demand and help provide more reliable power for customers in the area.
The substation supplies power to Lameroo and surrounding areas. The project includes civil work, equipment upgrades and removing electrical equipment that is no longer needed.
Most work will take place within the Lameroo substation on Philbey Road.
How this affects you
Our contractor, JBM Solutions, will begin civil work on Monday 24 August 2026. We expect this work to finish by Sunday 13 September 2026.
Most work will take place between 7am and 5pm on weekdays, with some weekend work as needed. This includes removing footings where required, and installing a concrete base for a new Stobie pole.
Our powerline crews will complete equipment upgrades at the substation between October and November 2026. Work will take place between 7.30am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
We anticipate there will be two planned outages associated with these works, if you are impacted, you will be notified separately
Traffic management
Temporary speed limits, partial closures and detours may be in place at times to keep road users and workers safe. Our traffic team is available on site to assist if needed.
Power outages
Customers subscribed to our free SMS/email notification service will typically receive two weeks’ notice, and we aim to provide even more notice where possible.
For customers not registered for the SMS/email service, we will send notification cards via post, though delivery times may vary.
We encourage anyone not already subscribed to sign up for updates using the National Meter Identifier (NMI) found on your electricity bill. For assistance, call us on 13 12 61 during business hours.
Subscribing is a convenient way to stay informed about planned and unplanned power outages, as well as other service updates.
