Plympton Night works - Marion Road, Cross Road and Glengyle Terrace
September 2024
What we’re doing
We're performing work on our electrical network overnight along Marion Road, Cross Road, and Glengyle Terrace as part of the Department for Infrastructure and Transport's Tram Grade Separation Projects.
Night works schedule (7pm - 6am nightly)
Tuesday 24 September: We will replace a pole adjacent to 426 Marion Road. This includes transferring high voltage and low voltage overhead powerlines and existing electrical services to the new pole. We will also install a new pole adjacent to 431 Glengyle Terrace and transfer the low voltage powerlines and services.
Wednesday 25 September: We will install a new pole at the northeast corner of 438 Marion Road to transfer overhead low voltage and high voltage powerlines. A small generator will be installed on the southwest corner of Cross Road and Marion Road to supply power to the traffic lights. We will install also a new pole adjacent to the southeast corner of 620 Marion Road to transferring overhead high voltage and low voltage powerlines.
Thursday 26 September: We will install a new pole adjacent to 503 Cross Road, remove the old pole, and transfer high voltage and low voltage powerlines, along with electrical equipment. We will also replace overhead low voltage powerlines across Cross Road. A new pole will be installed adjacent to 612 Cross Road to transfer consumer mains.

Traffic management
Reduced speeds and traffic management will be in place to keep everyone safe. Please follow traffic management directions and onsite signage.
Construction impacts
There will be lights, noise, vibration, and dust due our activities. We will minimise these impacts wherever possible. We have contacted some customers where access to private property is required.
Power outages
Power interruptions are planned for 24, 25 and 26 September between 9pm and 5am on each night. Affected customers have already been notified. We will aim to keep these interruptions as short as possible; customers subscribed for our free SMS/ email service will get a message when power is restored.
