Undergrounding Powerlines in Two Wells
Notification of works
Project update: Two Wells undergrounding powerlines
15 April 2025
We are continuing our work partnering with the Adelaide Plains Council to complete the undergrounding of powerlines along Old Port Wakefield Road in Two Wells. This project has been delayed from the original completion date in July 2024, however we are now planning to complete our part of the project by the end of May 2025.
The final stage of the project includes energising the new underground network and removing the redundant overhead network. Work will be done overnight between 8pm and 6am from Sunday 18 May to Friday 23 May 2025.
With some of the poles to be removed that currently have lights, the Adelaide Plains Council will install temporary public lighting until they can install the permanent lighting.
We will minimise noise and other disruptions as much as possible however there will be flashing safety lights, floodlighting, and noise. Traffic management will be in place for safety while our crews are on site.
During our overnight work, there will be periods of driveway and parking access restrictions. Our crews and traffic management team are committed to working closely with those impacted to minimise any inconvenience.
Some customers may experience up to two short power outages to connect their service to the new underground network. Those affected will be notified directly. We encourage anyone not already subscribed to sign up for updates using the National Meter Identifier (NMI) from their electricity bill. We send updates for both planned, and unplanned, outages (eg storms), and for projects that may have some disruption to you.
If you have any questions about our work, please contact Kyron in the Customer Communications team on 08 7326 2924.

What we are doing
SA Power Networks is working in partnership with Adelaide Plains Council to underground powerlines along a section of the main street as part of the exciting Village Green project to enhance this vibrant community. Construction includes undergrounding existing overhead powerlines, removal of the existing Stobie poles and the installation of new LED street lighting.
How this affects you
The work will take place:
- Between 7am and 5pm Monday to Friday
- From Monday 17 July to Wednesday 31 July 2024
To ensure the safety of our workers and the community, traffic safety management measures will be implemented along Old Port Wakefield Road. We will maintain access to businesses using road plates and stop/go traffic management. Speed restrictions and parking limitations will also be in effect in the vicinity of the works.
There may be intermittent restrictions on driveway access throughout. Our crews and traffic management team will work closely with those affected to minimise any inconvenience.
Some private electricity connections may need to be altered as part of the project. There is no cost to customers for this work, and we will let you know in advance if this affects you and your property.
Work hours and dates may vary due to weather conditions or unforeseen events outside of our control.
