The National Electricity Market (NEM) is going through a rapid transformation and there has been an increasing level of interest in Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) connection proposals at distribution voltage levels, typically sub-5MVA in nameplate capacity. This document has been developed to provide general guidance on the technical requirements and assessment criteria that specifically apply to customers seeking to connect BESS over 30kVA in nameplate rating to SA Power Networks' distribution network.
