RAP Innovate launch 2025 (1) 905 x 428

SA Power Networks has launched our 'Innovate' Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), marking a significant milestone in our commitment to First Nations engagement. The event, held at Adelaide Oval, celebrated past achievements and outlined a focused strategy to deepen relationships and create tangible opportunities with First Nations peoples and communities.

A Foundation for meaningful action

The launch gathered key leaders, including our Executive Leadership Team, and representatives from Reconciliation SA. The event began with a respectful Welcome to Country from Cliffy Wilson.

CEO Andrew Bills highlighted the RAP's importance, underscoring the organisation's shared responsibility. Jason Downs from Reconciliation SA noted that moving into the Innovate stage reflects a genuine commitment to translate foundational learning into practical, collaborative action.

RAP Coordinator Chad Ytsma stated the new plan represents both purpose and progress. “Reaching the Innovate stage is something we can all be proud of. Our focus now is on turning those foundations into meaningful action and outcomes that drive sustainable change,” Mr. Ytsma said.

Embedding reconciliation

Sam Bradley, Executive Sponsor of the RAP and Chief People Officer, detailed the practical initiatives.

“Our Innovate RAP is about embedding Reconciliation into the core of how we operate. It’s focused on practical actions that build long-term capability and trust by strengthening partnerships with First Nations organisations, expanding employment pathways, and increasing opportunities for First Nations businesses across our supply chain,” said Ms. Bradley.

Key actions include implementing cultural learning, guided by the Tjindu Foundation, to ensure employees work respectfully. The plan also drives economic opportunity by growing the network of First Nations suppliers through partnerships like Supply Nation.
