The official launch of the Stobie Pole Project 2025 has celebrated another vibrant chapter in South Australia's creative landscape - a unique public art initiative presented by Helpmann Academy in collaboration with SA Power Networks, and proudly supported by the City of West Torrens.

Guests were treated to a guided stroll along George Street, Thebarton, to view the striking new artworks created by three emerging South Australian artists: Crista Bradshaw, Tieyuan (Vivian) Zhou, and Ange De Palma. Each artist brought their own creative vision to the project, transforming our iconic Stobie poles into colourful works of art that celebrate community, connection and place.

The benefits of the project extend beyond the artists. Local businesses and residents have enjoyed watching the artworks take shape over recent months and are delighted with the vibrant, permanent additions now brightening their neighbourhood.

SA Power Networks CEO Andrew Bills was among the guests to witness the official unveiling.

“We’re proud to once again collaborate with Helpmann Academy on this one-of-a-kind initiative,”

“The Stobie Pole Project celebrates South Australia’s creativity and enriches our streetscapes. It’s a fantastic opportunity for emerging artists to leave their mark on our urban landscape.” said Andrew.

Now in its fourth edition since 2022, the Stobie Pole Project continues to highlight the pole as a uniquely South Australian invention and an unconventional canvas for artistic expression. Through creativity and collaboration, the 2025 edition continues to brighten Adelaide’s neighbourhoods — one pole at a time.
