Community awareness campaign encourages respectful behaviour

74% of SA Power Networks' frontline staff have reported experiencing aggression from customers or community members in a recent survey, prompting the launch of a community awareness campaign urging the public to be considerate.

Rising instances of aggressive behaviour

Front-line crews and call centre staff reported a range of behaviours, including verbal abuse and, in some cases, threatening actions. Many said these incidents increased their stress, anxiety, and sense of personal safety while at work.

These situations often occur when staff are responding to outages, repairing faults, or helping customers during difficult and unexpected disruptions.

About the campaign

The campaign asks the community to look past the uniform and see the person. Its core message is that aggression does not help the situation, and respectful interactions support safer outcomes for everyone involved.

Through personal stories and clear visual messages, the campaign highlights the real human impact of aggressive behaviour and encourages understanding and empathy.

Supporting our people

SA Power Networks crews work in all conditions to keep power safe and reliable across the state. While frustrations can arise during outages or maintenance work, aggression only makes their job harder.

The campaign reminds customers that we are all part of the same community and that respectful behaviour helps workers do their jobs safely.
