Glood relief news hero 905 x 428

A $51.6 million financial assistance package has been announced by the state government to assist River Murray communities, households and businesses affected by large-scale flooding.

The package includes grants to assist with the purchase of an electricity generator for households and businesses that are switched off from the electricity grid.

The funding will be available for households and businesses that receive notification from SA Power Networks that they will lose their power and purchase a power generator to enable them to safely remain at their property during the flood event.

SA Power Networks do not supply the grants or generators.

Proof required for eligibility to receive a generator grant

Always check the Government of SA Generator Grant web page first for full eligibility criteria.

As part of the application process, households and businesses will need to show a notice from SA Power Networks indicating the interruption of power. This notice could be in the form of a letter, text message, or email. If your supply has been disconnected and you haven’t received notice from us, please contact us.

We will try to provide advanced notifications to affected properties. This can be used as part of the evidence required to apply for a grant. The easiest way to stay informed and receive updates is to sign up for our SMS notifications:
